1. Check if you are eligible to apply

The BCTF provides legal aid services at no charge to members on any matter arising out of the members’ employment, including disciplinary proceedings before the Teacher Regulation Branch.

2. Complete the legal aid application form

If you need assistance completing this form please contact your local association office or the Legal Services Department at 604-871-1913
3. Gather all necessary documents
This includes but is not limited to:
- All communications with Teacher Regulation Branch
- All documents regarding employer discipline
- Copies of all communication with employer and related documents in member’s possession
- Copies of all documents from local union office.
