Reframing Challenging Behaviour through a Trauma-informed Lens
“Neurobiologically, students can’t learn if they don’t
feel safe, known, and cared for within their schools.” (Aupperle et al., 2012).
Participants in this workshop will explore practical methods to assist them in their environments. They will be encouraged to
share solutions that have worked well and discuss the wide range of effective
strategies, practical ideas, and resources related to trauma-informed practice.
Specific topics include the foundational
principles of trauma-informed practice, the examination of challenging behaviour through
a trauma-informed lens, and strategies for staying well. We need to
look after ourselves first, especially during this challenging time.
This workshop has been adapted for online presentation.
