SEA is a provincial specialist association of the British Columbia Teachers' Federation. The goal of SEA is to promote awareness, acceptance, and personal excellence for students with special needs through communications with members in the educational field and in the community.

SEA deals with topics of particular interest to our members and to all teachers in the field of special education. Information is communicated in a variety of ways:

  • SEA magazine, Crosscurrents
  • Annual Crosscurrents conference
  • Meetings of local chapters
  • SEA Executive Committee activities
  • Liaison with other PSAs, the BCTF, and government ministries
  • This website
  • Differentiated Instruction Wikki
  • Annual awards for exemplary teachers, teachers pursuing further education in SPED and for students with Ministry designations pursuing post-secondary education
  • SEA on-line bookclub

We welcome your visit to our site, and hope that you find useful information on the attached pages.
