Alternative Education Policy Adopted by Ministry
After consultation with the BCAEA, administrators, and other stakeholders, the Ministry has adopted the first ever policy on Alternative Education. Read the policy in full on the Ministry's site.
Executive Changes
We are sad to report that Joyce May has resigned from the executive. Her contributions over many years of service to the association are legendary, including stewardship of our finances as the treasurer, production of fantastic culinary delights at the legendary Schmooze, and a host of others too numerous to list. I know we all wish her well. She leaves a void our association will struggle to fill. Under our constitution, the Vice-President, Karen Gadowsky, becomes Acting President for the remainder of the term.
We have also lost (temporarily, we hope) Mark Bradshaw, who is on a year's leave and is currently learning Spanish in South America and/or teaching Scuba diving in Honduras. We look forward to his return. Los viajes felices, Mark.
2010 Challenge & Change Conference
Well, wasn't the 23rd conference great? The Vancouver TheatreSports League got us off to a rousing start, followed by David Hatfield's keynote address. In addition, we had 35 other sessions covering a wide variety of topics. We are already putting together the roster for next year, and hope to see you there!
