Guidelines

The following guidelines were approved by the BCTF Executive Committee in June 2010 and are published in the BCTF Members' Guide.

• AIDS Vancouver: HIV/AIDS prevention workshops (two to three hours). All workshops can be modified to 80 minute blocks for secondary schools except Gender and HIV.

• Options for Sexual Health. Non-profit BC society offers clinical services and comprehensive education and information. 
• Professional development training for teachers. Can be modified to fit audience needs.

• Sexual education free from heterosexism  
• Sexual health education in the schools: Questions and answers.  3rd edition, March 2010. Published by the Sex Information and Education Council of Canada (SIECCAN), this resource provides answers to the most commonly asked questions about sexual health education. 
• SexualityAndU.ca provides information and education on sexual health. The website is administered by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada. 
• Teachingsexualhealth.ca is a website sponsored by the Alberta Government. It is developed by educators and medical professionals to assist teachers in the teaching of sexual health.
• Using gender neutral language in your classroom  
• Youth Co. trainings and workshops in the lower mainland. They will travel to other parts of the province when organizations can help support their travel costs.
