120,000 BC workers are paid only the minimum wage and over 500,000 others earn $15 or less per hour.

• 47% of minimum-wage earners are 25 or older and
nearly 10,000 are over 55 •
• 63% are women •
• 46% work for employers with more than 500 employees •

At $10.25 per hour, BC’s minimum wage is one of the lowest in Canada.
Yet BC has the highest cost of living.

In a recent poll, 80% of British Columbians agreed: “Considering the cost
of living, $15 per hour is a fair wage.” (Insights West, November 2014)

The BCTF has endorsed the BC Federation of Labour’s Fight for $15 campaign.

Visit the website at www.fightfor15.bc.ca and sign the petition.

Raise your voice to raise the minimum wage. It’s only fair!
