Booking Procedures and Information for the Organizer of a Parent Presentation
The organizer, usually a Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) representative, submits the request.
NEW! A Parent Presentation Request Online Submission Form is now available.
To book a presentation, use the “Book
this presentation” link below the selected presentation description (view descriptions here). Fill in the form and submit. Upon submission, your presentation request will be sent to the BCTF and you will receive an email confirmation of its receipt.
Please allow at least four–five weeks lead-in time for your request. The presenters are all volunteers and donate their time and expertise to assist and broaden the knowledge of parents.
Once a presenter has been located and
confirmed . . .
Once a presenter has been found to lead the workshop(s) that the PAC has requested, staff at BCTF will send a confirmation of the booking both to the presenter and to the organizer. This sheet includes all contact information thereby allowing both parties to have direct contact with each other
in order to have a smoothly run presentation. You can confirm times, arrangement for the presentation, and equipment needs.
Booking procedures and information for parent presenters
When a request arrives from the organizer/parent (usually a PAC representative) for a parent presentation, staff at BCTF send out an e-mail to members of the parent presenter list who live in the vicinity. This request includes the workshop title, school/PAC, and the requested date(s).
All those who receive the e-mail should reply.
If your response is:
- “no,” the staff member can cross your name off the list for this request.
- “yes,” the staff member will wait until all responses are in before choosing the presenter.
Once you are selected to offer the presentation, you will receive a pdf of the confirmation form. This provides the name, 01e-mail, and phone number of the organizer so you can make contact with her/him in order to fine tune details for the presentation.
You will also receive an expense voucher, presentation documents (including the PowerPoint, facilitator’s notes, and handouts for participants), and evaluation forms for both the participants and yourself.
