The Young Professional Award

Physical Education Provincial Specialist Association


The Young Professional Award recognizes outstanding contribution to the field of Physical Education in each province and territory in Canada. Only one (1) award will be presented in each area.


a) Must be members of CAHPERD or the Provincial Liaison Group (PEPSA)
b) should be normally 35 years of age or less, although consideration will be given to professionals who are in the early stages of late entry careers or who have had their careers interrupted
c) will be evaluated on their contributions to the profession; areas of contributions include: membership in professional organizations, office held; involvement in associations; leadership in professional development, program development, or community; honors and awards received.

Selection Process:

A nomination in the form of a letter must be supported by documentation and at least one letter of support.
Potential recipient(s) will be chosen by the elected executive and forwarded to the CAHPERD. The final choice is the responsibility of the CAHPERD Provincial Representative on the Executive Council. The award will be presented each year at either the AGM or the annual awards banquet.
