Teacher Awards, Grants and Scholarships

Honourary Lifetime Membership

British Columbia Association of Mathematics Teachers

  • have had a long association with BCAMT (for more than 20 years)
  • have provided extraordinary service to BCAMT
  • continue to demonstrate excellence as a classroom teacher, professional leadership, outstanding contribution to mathematics education
  • be an educator (practicing teacher, consultant, resource teacher, administrator, etc.)
Selection Process:
  • all nominations are reviewed by the BCAMT Awards committee (consisting of a minimum of five previous award recipients) who recommend the recipients to the BCAMT executive for ratification
  • each nomination is considered for two years
  • awards are presented at one of the BCAMT conferences
Nomination Package:
  • a completed nomination form (one person per form);
  • nominee's curriculum vitae which demonstrates evidence of teaching, contribution, innovation, professional involvement and impact;
  • nominator's summary (one page only) explaining concisely the reasons for the nomination;
  • two letters of support (one page each) with concise information about how the nominee fulfills the criteria.
Send the nomination package in an envelope clearly marked BCAMT awards, postmarked no later than March 31, 2003 to:
