Telephone-based coaching to assist individuals who are experiencing depressive symptoms. Individuals need a referral from a GP.
Confident Parents: Thriving Kids
Telephoned-based family-focused coaching to help with mild to moderate behavioural problems. Promotes healthy child development in children ages 3–12.
Living Life to the Full: Helping You to Help Yourself
(group format, fee of $150))
A 12-hour, 8-week course, sessions are 1.5 hours each week. An interactive course that uses CBT principles to teach participants how to manage their mood and improve their quality of life. This course was developed by a Psychiatrist Dr. Chris Williams who is a specialist in CBT. Courses in BC are offered through local Canadian Mental Health Association branches.

Living with Balance
A BCTF HW Program workshop, which runs for two hours once per week for six weeks. The program’s holistic approach to wellness aims to equip teachers to make simple lifestyle changes that will positively affect their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Kelty Mental Health Resources
The Kelty Pinwheel Education series includes free, all-inclusive monthly education events open to anyone in BC. Past education events can be accessed through online recordings.
University of Victoria Chronic Disease Self-Management Programs
(group format, online option, no cost)
- Chronic Pain Self-Management Program
- Arthritis and Fibromyalgia Program
- Diabetes Self-Management Program for Individuals with Type 2 Diabetes
These programs provide education regarding how to manage chronic conditions. Courses are offered in online and group formats, and are available throughout British Columbia.
Six-week courses are led by trained facilitators, sessions are 2.5 hours each week.

Antidepressant Skills at Work: Dealing with Mood Problems in the Workplace
A resource that assists individuals who are experiencing depression due to workplace problems or individuals who are depressed and experiencing difficulty functioning at work.
The Antidepressant Skills Workbook
A self-care guide that provides education about depression, and utilizes a cognitive behavioural model to teach users how to change thought patterns that contribute to depression.
An online “mental fitness” BCTF program developed by Dr. Miki and founded on the tenets of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), Starling Minds is designed to help any BCTF member who wants to learn more about stress, depression, and anxiety and how symptoms of these conditions affect both the mind and body. Individuals learn effective strategies that help keep sadness, anxiety, and worry in check.

Problem Gambling Help Line
The Province’s Responsible Gambling Strategy exists to help reduce or prevent the harmful impacts of excessive or uncontrolled gambling.
