Teachers' professional development is a process of ongoing growth. Through involvement in programs, services and activities, teachers enhance their professional practice both individually and collectively.  Research from British Columbia and other educational jurisdictions illustrates the importance of purposefully organized and long-term professional development opportunities that are embedded in teachers' diverse work contexts.
