Lets inspire a generation to be passionate about the environment. In this interactive, fun and empowering workshop K–12 teachers will discover the common thread that connects sustainability leaders. A common thread we can easily cultivate by tapping into ideas already found in the curriculum, such as: valuing diversity and relationships, understanding cycles, and appreciating our interconnection with nature. Participants will gain the skills to deliver the Social Responsibility Competency facet: caring for the environment in such a way that students feel hopeful about their future and wowed by the natural environment. The instructor will facilitate hands-on activities in the classroom and outside in the Garden leaving you with plenty of ideas to ignite the next generation of environmental leaders.

MineralsEd, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority and Westshore Terminals
Feb 15, Delta, BC
MineralsEd, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority and Westshore Terminals together invite teachers on a field trip to see Canada's global trade in action. Visit port operations at Roberts Bank in Delta, beginning with a site tour at Westshore Terminals, Canada's largest coal export facility. Next up is the Container Trail tour including Canada's largest container terminal at Deltaport, a busy container depot and huge logistics warehouses.
This is a unique opportunity. Note that the Container Trail tour currently has a long waiting list for the general public so this would be a good time to take advantage of that plus the Westshore terminal tour.
Please register by February 8, 2019, and pass on the message to your fellow teachers.
