SSTA Executive, Staff, PD, Health & Safety Reps
The function of the SSTA PD Committee is to ensure that the purpose of Professional Development as stated in Art. 1.1 of the PD Handbook is realized.

The SSTA Bargaining & Grievance Committee is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the contract including salary and benefits, leaves and post and fill. The committee is also responsible for representing the membership in seeking improved provisions to the Collective Agreement.

The Health & Safety Reps at each school ensure all WCB health and safety regulations are followed. Concerns are then fowarded to the SSTA Health & Safety Chair, who in turn attends monthly meetings with management.
The SSTA Social Justice Committee is tasked with raising the profile of, and taking action on issues such as anti-poverty, anti-racism, anti-discrimination, and Status of Women.

The SSTA Aboriginal Education Committee works locally to reflect the needs of our aboriginal students in the community. The main focus of the next few years will be working toward employment equity for teachers of aboriginal descent.
