Participating in BCTF Discussion Board Forums

In order to participant in BCTF discussion board forums, you must be registered as a membership user or self-register. If you've been pre-registered, login with the username and password provided. To self-register, click the register button on for discussion board page of interest.

Once registered and logged in, you're ready to join in on the discussion.

Note: View and post permissions may be restricted for some discussion forums.

Adding a post

1. Click the topic title link to which you wish to contribute.
   Or, add your own topic. See Adding a topic below.
2. Click the ADD POST button.
   Note:  If it is your first post, you will be presented with a user agreement to read and agree to before proceeding to the post page. Read the agreement, check the “I have read...” box and click Continue.
   The editor window will open. Enter your post in the main Message: area. If desired, use the toolbar buttons to format your post text.
3. When finalized, click the Post button. To discard your post, click Cancel. After posting, your post will display at the bottom of the topic.

Editing a post

1. When logged in, you will see an EDIT button next to each of your posts.
   Click the appropriate EDIT button.
2. The editor will open with post in Message: area. Change as desired.
3. Click the Post button.

Replying to a post

1. When logged in, you will see an ADD REPLY button below each post.
   Click the appropriate ADD REPLY button.
2. The editor will open. Enter reply in the in Message: area.
3. Click the Post button.

Adding a topic

1. From the forum main page, click the NEW TOPIC button. 
2. Enter a topic subject in the Subject: field.
3. Enter the starter post for the new topic in the main Message: area. 
4. Click the Post button.

Deleting a topic or post

Contact the BCTF website administrator at webmanager@bctf.ca to request deletion.

Logging out

When you are done participating in the discussion, click the logout button.

Subscribe

Receive forum updates via e-mail by subscribing. Login using your CMS membership and you can then subscribe to a board, forum or specific topic by going to that item and clicking the mail icon  at the top right.

RSS Feed

Receive forum updates via RSS by clicking on the RSS icon  and pasting the URL into your RSS Reader. Different feeds are available for each topic.
